~*sunday drive

Escaping the malls and all the boisterous city commotions, we took a trip to Kota Kubu Bharu to marvel at old abandoned houses. It all started with Bukit Tungku and the whole creepy aura exuded by the abandoned mansions which got us a little psyched to see more of such monuments. So, off we throttled away to KKB in search of lush greens and weepy looking houses.

We managed to find only a few decrepit government houses, nothing too grand before we were lulled by the idea of visiting the nearby dam.

The dam offered no less excitement than the houses. Vast expanse of water was intimidating; at the same time it was splendid to see so far off into the horizon. The weather was superb. Overcast and breezy, I have absolutely no complaint! We just stood there soaking up the loveliest of weather and the prettiest of scenery.

We took a scenic route up to Fraser’s Hill and there’s simply no way of explaining just how marvelous it was to be surrounded by rainforest trees, insect chirps, the rustles of leaves and the occasional monkeys romping away.

The highlight of the day was having tea and scones for tea at the Ye Olde Smokehouse. It was almost surreal, a layer of mist was settling, it was chilly, and we were the only patrons of the establishment. The place was eerie but beautiful. I had such a splendid time I wish the next day wasn’t a Monday, and for time to cease its existence. Spending a lazy Sunday like this with him is heaven!
