Here are a few pictures I’ve been meaning to post some time ago but never had the time to.
So here's us taking a day trip to idyllic Pangkor Island. Took a route that led us first to Kellie's Castle which I found absolutely romantic. It's a simple structure, of the most basic architecture yet mesmerizing. I found the tight stairwell leading to the rooftop opening most romantic with the most brilliant of crevices that allowed light to stream through. The castle was splendid company. Quiet and serene and we could do whatever to our heart's fancy!
We crossed over to Pangkor and rented a Kelisa and rounded the island, and once again, i was captivated by the abundance of elements the nature had to offer. Looming foliage and the turquoise sea was a sight to behold!
We only stopped by a fishermen's town for roti bakar and kopi. Brilliant!
Then, there's the business trip to Miri. Well if i boiled down to it, it wasn't much of a business trip per se. It was awful 'fun' to be stripped bare of basic necessity! Absolutely no handphone coverage, no air con, not even a fan for the faint hearted! And having to travel 8 full hours into the deepest recesses of Miri on roads you couldn't even begin to categorize as a 'road'. It was gravel! Tarmac ceased to exist!
But the experience was amazing! Living in long houses, riding boats (without life jackets), fishing and then eating them, having traditional Kayan feast, traditional dances and percussion perfomances, participating in their tuak dances and getting to know the folks.
The extend of how remote they are from the world we know is quite an insight as to how simple life can be there.
Canon A710 IS is now responsible for all picture taking frenzy thanks to HIM.
Here's us in Singapore. On our last day, we took on Vivo City but left with dejection plastered over our faces. No purchases.
Just hours before we left the city, we dropped by East Coast Park and rented bicycles and cycled to our heart's content! The weather was breezy and we were just excited to hop on our bikes and cycle away.
Just before we left, we were craving for that one last serving of spaghetti meatballs from Spageddis! It was so good we drove for over an hour trying to get back to the place, i don't think i would have left Singapore happily if not for that last meal of spaghetti!
