~*a little birthday

Here I am!

I secretly took leave from work yesterday because it was someone’s special day and I wanted to surprise him.

So I made arrangements to escape during lunch time to get him a nice little gift. Nothing out of the world but it was something he could use. So I pondered and picked and pondered more before I splurged on it. I couldn’t have had it any cheaper because he has a distaste for anything lower grade than that.

So happily, I skipped back to office, put in my request for leave the next day and the day ended with me, my gift and also lugging bags of groceries from my after work delight, a tub of Baskins and a little cake.

He was away at work till the wee mornings which left me with more time than needed to prepare everything. I made dinner (for myself la) consisting of a mix of pork cocktails, baked beans, eggs and spiced buns before examining my gift and wrapping it up proper.

I sat in front of the TV and watched 2 movies (and he is still not back) and I waited as patiently as possible to surprise him.

But…I fell asleep!

And woke up to him kissing my hands and saying “hello” as I opened my eyes at 5am. Shit. Plan failed.

Nevermind, he was ecstatic I took the day off to be with him!

So it was all merry, we caught up on our daily ramblings on the couch as my sleepy eyes threatening to close till I couldn’t stay awake anymore. So much for a surprise!

We spent the day as well as we could. We made lunch and spoke as we prepared our garb, had a nap and I took him to an exquisite Japanese restaurant for dinner.

It all ended so simple and well he exclaimed it was his best birthday in many years! Yay!
