The past week or so has been filled with a myriad of activities ranging from heartwarming events to semi panic moments clustered with overwhelming joy and excitement; I hardly know where to begin.
HunkyBoss left a void in the office which I doubt would ever be filled – unless our principle decides to ship another one of their hyper-on-the-go-working-machine, save to say, there’s still a void.
And so we sent him off in the most fashionable manner with dinner cocktails and heartwarming videos. A handshake and a flash of his charming smile, off he went.
Before we could mourn his farewell, the Award night sent us all in a frenzy with guessing games, preparing press statement, developing ad (in hope we would win) and rushing for all our presentation papers for our meeting in Japan.
Award night was suspenseful. Of the 3 categories we were nominated, we went and clinched all 3 - and just when we thought we have maxed out our awards, we were surprised when we were announced the overall winner for the best product from a list of 53 rivals! We leapt from our chairs and beamed from ear to ear with the automotive industry congratulating us for our phenomenal win. How do you end a night filled with so much excitement? We were over the moon! (and we know we've worked darn hard to clinch the titles :P)
I sprinted off after the customary after-event mingling to get my bags packed and flew off for a meeting in Japan. Here are some pictures to share with all:-

The day started off with a host of presentations at MMC where we had the chance to join the rush hour at the train station. Upon completing the earlier session, we sprinted off to MC for another 3 hour long session.
Exhausting a day as it was, we met up with ExHunkyBoss, our other Japanese colleagues and BigChief for dinner at a Japanese fusion restaurant in Roppongi.
We digested our heavy meal with a 2 hour walk around Roppongi and Roppongi Hills. I thought it was the best moment of the day and the night was cool and we had mindless chatters as we walked the streets. And in the spur of the moment, we took the chance to view Tokyo at the Observatory Deck. It was splendid and candid.
We had the weekend to ourselves (mighty rare) and the theme of the day was ‘EXPLORE and SHOP’. And so we did. We took a train to the East of Tokyo and walked the city of Kamakura. The shrines are magnificent and the entire town of Kamakura felt almost timeless.
We spent a great deal of the day in the idyllic Kamakura before we headed to Harajuku and I almost lost two feet after walking the entire day.
We spent the following day at Shinjuku before calling it quits and returned to our hotel to wait for our host to pick us up for dinner.
We capped off the meeting (and the trip) with our final stop at our Nagoya plant. We took the Shinkansen (Train), which costs us a hefty RM 600, to Nagoya where we stopped for only 15 minutes for lunch – and I had to swallow my hot ramen in under 10 minutes – to make it for our next ride to the plant. After initial briefings and small talks, we visited the plant and I thought it was extremely interesting too see how our products are being put together.By the end of it, I was actually excited to return home and almost ran out of the airport to jump into his arms.
Oh and have I told you I maxed out my credit card and bank account for this trip. *shit*
And we’re taking time out to be together – Singapore is on this weekend’s agenda! Yay!
