~*the missing post

Ok I feel guilty for not contributing enough, I am aware of that. So here’s blogging while working. Not truly encouraged, as it really distracts me from my work, but I suppose I’ll have to make do with the time I have now to just quickly plonk a decent one in here.

So there was the Hong Kong trip I went to with boyfriend. 5-well-deserved-days of rest, eat, shop and not forgetting the amount of walking thrown in.

The weather was brilliant, absolutely made walking such a pleasant activity to indulge. With the absence of a car during the day, we made our way around Hong Kong primarily by foot, MTR, busses and the ferry. Come night time, a sleek Lexus was our preferred mode of transportation! Benefits of having a friend around to play host.

Shopping was rather a dismal prospect for me, with goods sold at sky-high price, and the sales period no where near, my only indulge was in the form of the newly opened H&M in Central, which again was disappointing when I notice the sharp drop in quality, choices of garments displayed and lack of ingenuity. Boyfriend was absolutely adept at shopping (as always) purchasing his first piece within the first hour in the mall on the first day and rounded up the trip with more purchase than I did. It has become a norm I almost disregard the fact he actually shops more than I do.

As most tourists do, we went sightseeing. Covering as much city landscape HK island could offer, ferried ourselves over to Tsim Tsa Tsui, dropped by the quaint Stanley market – by far my favorite and for all the best memories I could gather, it’s the simple trips on the train and walking on the sidewalks with him.

4 consecutive nights have been nothing short of a feast! Night after night, we were fed to our tummies’ delight! Seafood (lobster sashimi with lobster still alive *eek*) at Lai Yue Mun, fantastic Italian dinner at Nicholini’s (foie gras has never tasted so exquisite, dessert has never been this fun and the surprise that came with it was heartwarming), steamboat (with the yummiest beef strips and beef cubes to tantalize the taste buds!), dim sum, and more HK desserts! Eating was a lot of fun!

Boyfriend tempted me with an additional day in HK, postponing our flight a day later. Tempting, but it’ll have to end just when it leaves me wanting for more.

On another note, Heroes is blimey interesting! We have officially made every Wednesday our ‘Heroes Night’ (as with many others who catches it on Astro) and we’d gobbled down our dinner in front of the telly and cuddle up to watch. We would go great lengths to make it and try never to miss it. It’s good practice to finish up work quicker and more efficiently without letting work come between us. We’re working on it, but on some days it’s not to our favor.

Last weekend we made an impulsive decision to drive down to Malacca because he was craving for Nyonya food and I didn’t mind having Devil Curry Chicken, Fried Calamari and the fantastic Dragonfruit drink at Bibik Neo’s! Dinner was satisfying, though we felt everything was a tad spicy from the last we ate. And there’s nothing like the Jonker’s Street for a bit of walk. We were greeted with loud cheers and claps by the street leading into Jonker’s Walk when we saw the public being entertained by a street performer. We stayed to see his antics and were delightly entertained. Strolling by the back streets and by the river was charming.

Work’s picking up pace now. More vendors and suppliers to meet, more planning and decisions to make, work pace needs a boost and I wish I was SUPERWOMAN!
