today was a relatively nice saturday to start off with...my boy and i went to the MPH warehouse sale in kelana jaya and it stayed true to the concept of 'warehouse'...totally humongous! Books were everywhere!!! my boy bought all of Dan Brown's books (apart from Da Vinci's Code), you name it, from Deception Point right down to Angels and Demons (with Digital Fortress in between ;p) .... cool! now i have free books to read .. though i can't help thinking he bought it for me to read and for him to keep. There were so many more other books, some of which i really wanted but still not entirely cheap enough to get me to buy them. So instead, i got myself a book by Ivan Turgenev, 'Fathers and Sons'...for...RM2.00 ... hahaha...tht's quite a bargain really!
then later in the afternoon we decided to catch Sepet, the movie by Yasmin Ahmad but we were entice by Hollywood...darn Hollywood with offerings like Lemony Snicket's A Series Of Unfortunate Events, Boogeyman and Hide & Seek...all of which we both wanted to watch... So the Malaysian 'Sepet' had to make way (sad to say, but i'm sure i'll catch it another day) and we took on Boogeyman...
and what a MISTAKE!!! anyone planning to catch this movie, i won't ask you not to watch, but think twice...not bacause it is provided some good scare, but because it was sooooooooooooooooo bad and corny, it's really unimaginable that Sam Raimi could fall so low!!!! My boy thinking it was produced by Mr.Raimi, it should be good...but the movie was a letdown, endless scenes of Barry Watson staring at every possible closets he can stare at, Watson being such a wimp throughout the show, and just Watson being plain stupid about everything! It had one of the worst storyline ever...geez! i walked out of the cinema feeling so cheated my boy paid RM 18 for a movie that doesn't even meet the average Hollywood standard!
hmph!
and i was famished!! and my boy insisted we try out this new hawker centre he found and so we drove through the jam and all and by the end of it, the hawker was so miserable you can't even call it a hawker centre! So we moved on, he suggested we go for our Hong Kong dishes in Taipan, but me being reluctant to go through the jam again decided we just go somewhere near and we headed to Cafe Melise in D.Jaya...funny little place i say...it serves Western food in a 'Chap Fan' style...you know where you stand in line and point to what you want and waiter will stack it on your dish, yea tht's the concept, but it sure didn't compromise the food. It was pretty much restaurant standards.
then...the end, with our bulging bellies and contented sighs, we headed back to my place and took a night walk round the playground opposite my house (for digestion purposes!).
