movies i caught these few days...
it's the cinema by the way ;) ... yeaps i caught Meet the Fockers last friday (like 3 days ago) and Kung Fu Hustle just yesterday (this was one show whereby i took dead long to get the tickets!)
Meet The Fockers was really really funny! and i love it...cus it's funny and it tickles my funny bone ;) ... however, contrary to the believe, Kung Fu Hustle lacked the laughters i was expecting from myself! I was really really disappointed! I mean my boy drove all the way to Sunway Pyramid on a Saturday to get the Sunday tickets (cus all of One Utama's were sold out, unless you don't mind first row seats, which kinna like defits the entire purpose of watching a movie!) ... so in the cinema, there i was, waiting to laugh myself silly over Chow Sing Chi's media hyped up Kung Fu Hustle only to find myself sitting back, and actually bored myself for almost 15 minutes or so before the man himself finally appeared!*sigh* ... i should never have placed too much expectation.
after the show (kungfu hustle) i came back and watch The Village on DVD! gila-ness! the show wasn't too bad, but truth be told, it was kinna boring ;) until the ending comes around only did it start to get a lil interesting ...
oh oh, SUPERSIZE ME! it's this documentary that, for sure, will put you off McDonald's...for a week or so... ;) it's crazy! this guy (the one in the picture, he's Morgan Spurlock by the way, the director and producer of the documentary), he went on a McDonald's diet for a month, yeah, breakfast, lunch and dinner... you go do the counting! ;) ... and he started off with a clean bill of health and it took only three weeks to get his three doctors so worried, they asked him to come off the McD diet before he kills his liver! And he took another 8 months on a strictly vegan diet before he was pronounced 'safe' (as in back to how his health was before he got on the McD quest)...the ickiest thing was, Morgan also conducted an experiment whereby he watches over these few McD items for over 10 weeks and see how fast the burgers and fries "disintegrates" themselves!...they were put against one ordinary burger made from real beef patty and one packet of fries made from fresh potatoes...you know what? The fries made from fresh potatoes and the real beef patty turned into some sickly colour after 2 weeks (good enough to be thrown away) while the McD french fries...no sign of moss or whatever that turns food into the sickly colour even after 10 weeks! ... i am now thinking twice before i munch down a packet of McD fries! but i think this self-restraint period will last, the most i give it, one month ;) before i pounce on a fillet-o-fish!
