~*snort

Now I’m itching to write.

So while the bug’s bitten me, I better scratch it and let’s get started with, say, Happy Chinese New Year?!

It’s the time of the year where I know my parents get all stressed out trying to get the festivities under wraps, dressing the young ones up, making sure the red packets are packed, the pineapple tarts all nicely baked, plan for their annual trips overseas and cracking their skulls over reunion dinner. This year however, was most stress free. We just didn’t celebrate :) hence, none of the above. *bliss*

Most days are spent at home, both mine and his. Mom had a sudden wave of culinary brilliance and decided we should all have traditional Shangtong meal for 2 consecutive days…and a few more thereafter with the leftovers.

It was rather simple a celebration as we returned to work right after the public holidays were up…though I can hardly say I didn’t enjoy myself because I did!

This year was different in many ways and for many reasons. It’s a brilliant feeling and let’s just say I spent it as happily as I could imagine.

In the same week, his dad celebrated his 70th last Saturday and a feast was thrown in his honor at their spanking new Residence. I got him a nice white shirt with different hues of blue lines running vertically. While he presented him a classy wristwatch and he looked grand that night!

My parents arrived much later but mingled quite happily as…let’s just say our families have intertwining relations much to our amazement, and amusement. The night progressed excellently, tired as we were, we enjoyed ourselves.
