~*murderous

Spiffy black suits, slinky silk ties and slam glam polished shoes were the order of the night!

I sprinted from work to Carcosa Sri Negara for the annual award ceremony in my neatly pressed shirt, but left my jacket in my company’s car *darn* I conveniently left it in the car and happily passed the keys to the car wash company and la-di-da-ed away.

Rain was pelting and finding my way there took up immense concentration, parking was horrid, walking under the rain in my suede heels were, well not torture but painful…I could feel moisture seeping in and…not on my suede heels please!

The night was semi glamorous, but dull and absolutely not exciting. What do you expect when you’re 22 and the entire room is filled with old fogeys, men, men, men and more men.

Arrived just in time for some mild mingling before being ushered into the marquee, took my seat with people from Mazda (whose cars I’ve always marveled at for its brilliant styling and exceptional emotional feel I attached myself to) and the quiet Porsche guy. I thought they were all boring bankers at first.

I sat waiting, glancing at the doorway for my CEO (Hunky and Japanese). I was counting on him being there. Ah and finally he called to inform me he is on his way *phew*.

Boring speeches entailed, almost nodded off into my dinner plate! And then dinner came around with the award presentation thereafter.

We sat there; I was having easy mindless chatter with HunkyJapCEO, not expecting anything remotely exciting to happen when it came to our category, we were gripping our chairs with anticipation. It wasn’t the MOST important award in the world, but winning won’t do us harm either. Being in the same category as BMW, Porsche and Mercedes didn’t make things any easier *sweats*

We were already gearing to walk home empty handed when the emcee announced the first syllable “MIT” … Our eyes lit up! HunkyJapCEO looked like a little boy as he fixed his suit and walked up to receive the award, came back to his seat and smiled gleefully with several “Yes, yes” punctuated in between congratulatory conversations J Mr.Porsche walked home right after. I was just happy we won the category but it doesn’t translate into record breaking sales figure…

I’ve been swarmed with work lately, the drive at Sepang, the launch, post launch activities, and not to mention East Malaysia’s launch next week. I’ve not paused for a breather for 1.5 months excluding previous 6 months of planning. And now I’m feeling stressed over my inability to control my work. Flying off to KK on Monday with HunkyJapCEO is not going to make my workload any easier. I’m worrying almost every other day, and I feel horrible it affects me this way. My skin’s patchy, I’m eating crap to make up for my patchy skin :P

On a lighter note, I’m feeling happy and I’m savoring the moment for all its simple bliss and the calming effect that fills me. Despite my patchy skin, strangers commented I look radiant, what a blimey bonus! Or maybe, they’re lying…

Little nephew turned one over the weekend and that little happy bundle is such a good kid I’m surprised by how well he behaves! He warms up to everyone who is mildly interested to carry him.
