surprise surprise!

i think minggy is a very smart girl. she tactfully designed our blog title to cover the whole opening screen, so when you scroll down, you are filled with anticipation as to if these lazy bums / overworked (??) girls have entered in a new entry or not. am i right, no? hahaha.

let's work backwards shall we.

last weekend::

Accenture had their movie night (which the pitiful new joiners had to organize, yes, me included!) and Da Vinci Code was the movie of the day. I liked it! Considering i have not read the book, the movie was pretty good for me because i was looking forward to the solution of the code. Unlike others who have read it, they found it pretty summarised and some even slept. :P oh well.

Went for lunchy with minggy. :P O'Briens is a nice place huh, although they just love irish boybands. Went walking around the fleamarket but restrained from the temptation of shopping. *pats minggy's back* Dropped by starbucks for a drink, and pondered upon our dear lives. the past, the present and the future. what do we really want? will it be what we really need?

Went back to office to shoot the 5 minute video required of all new joiners for the company vacation. (yes, you see, we're gonna be their source of entertainment there) But shooting the video was fun fun fun. Hehe, my team acted as this video of an Italian mafia team, and I got to kill a person. With a plastic ruler. Our props are so convincing huh.

The weekend before last::

Went for a day trip to Seremban and Malacca for food food food! This was a result of a Malaysian-food-starving colleague-stuck-in-Singapore. :P

Mother's Day!!! Got a cake from Bakerzin. So So Good. Please do not purchase cakes from this retail outlet with some initial S.R. :P They are pretty tasteless. At least enjoy the calories that you load in your body. Mom, hope you enjoyed the cake and the whole day generally. :)

The weekend before the weekend before last (geddit?)::

er, i can't remember. heheh. just kidding.

i was in Manila! Hot hot place, but it was a good experience. Lots of good food due to their European influences. Ate good Paella (spanish rice) drenched in squid ink! Yup its all black but once you get a taste of it i'm sure you won't look at ink the same way again. Heheh. Besides the cheap Levi's shopping there, there's nothing much to buy in terms of branded stuff. It's either more expensive or about the same.

On our day outside on Manila, we went volcano trekking in Tagaytay Island. Rode a horse up the volcano, and you could have easily mistakened us as bandits. :P When we reached up there, we looked down into the volcano to see its boiling lake in the crater. Beautiful. But the heat and dust can get to you sometimes.

We visited Jose Rizal's memorial. For some reason, I was really amazed by the mind of this *rather good looking* man at his day and age. He is one of those national heroes who had really fought for his country's independence, like our dear Tunku Abdul Rahman and others had done too. But Jose Rizal was executed in the end for this visionary thoughts, and he wrote a poem to his country which he tactfully passed to his mother using a carosene lamp. This poem is engraved in the walls of his memorial, and translated into several other languages as well. And up till now, more and more people everyday are learning about his love and courage. I was thinking, boy, must he be proud.

toodles for now.....
